Access & Accommodation Services

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) is committed to offering services that make its programs accessible to all visitors. Providing for accessibility needs is crucial for creating equity in the performance arts.

OSF abides by all applicable ADA ticketing rules and mobility and ADA seating is available at all price levels. Each ADA ticket can be purchased with up to three companion seats. Captioning, Assistive Listening Devices, ADA seating and Audio Description are available for all non-preview performances with limited availability. All OSF Access, Accommodation Programs, and Services are complimentary. ASL+ Weekends for June, July, and September 2024

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival has established an ASL+ Weekend Performances Calendar in order to improve customer service for people who need ASL (American Sign Language), Audio Description (detailed narration via headphones), Captioning (written transcription on a tablet), Assistive Listening Devices (increased volume amplification via listening devices) and other access and accommodation services. These services will be offered during ASL+ Weekends.

Please note: Patrons are required to request seating in the ASL interpretation section by contacting Access Services via email at [email protected].

ASL+ Performance Dates

Join us for ASL+ Weekends in 2024, with performances in all three theatres: June 28–30, July 26–28, and September 13–15.

ASL Performance Ticket Purchasing

Online Purchases: ASL+ performance dates, times and seating can be found on OSF’s ticket purchasing page. Please use Best Available Seating for a list of access requests. You may also leave a detailed order note on the checkout page. 

Phone Purchases: If you prefer to purchase tickets by phone, please call 1-800-219-8161. Please be prepared to indicate which accommodation services you/your companion(s) require as availability is limited.

    Plan Your Visit for ASL+ Weekends!
    For Visitors who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

    American Sign Language (ASL) Interpretation:

    OSF encourages patrons seeking ASL interpretation to take advantage of ASL+ planned performances. To request ASL interpretation, visit OSF’s season calendar and select your performance using the Buy Tickets button. On the performance page, use the "Purchase Best Available Seating" option, which will give you a list of access requests to choose from. You may also leave a detailed order note on the checkout page or contact the Box Office at [email protected].

    Audio Augmentation/ Assistive Listening Devices:

    Assistive Listening Devices are available for patrons who are hearing or hard of hearing, to provide greater amplification. Devices are available at the Access Booth on a first come, first served basis and cannot be reserved.

    Closed Captions:

    Digital tablets with stands for closed captions are available for performances presented in the Angus Bowmer, Allen Elizabethan, and Thomas Theatres. Devices must be requested no later than two weeks before a performance and are not available for Preview performances. For safety reasons, patrons requesting captions cannot be seated in the first row of the Thomas or Elizabethan theatres. Please visit OSF’s season calendar and select your performance using the Buy Tickets button. On the performance page, use the "Purchase Best Available Seating" option, which will give you a list of access requests to choose from.     For Visitors who have Low Vision or are Blind

    Audio Description:

    Audio Describers provide live description of performances in our Angus Bowmer, Allen Elizabethan, and Thomas Theatres. Audio Description must be requested no later than two weeks before a performance and is not available for Preview performances.     For Visitors with Service Animals

    Service Animals are welcome at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. Service animals are limited to dogs and miniature horses by Federal Law. Emotional support animals and pets are not permitted. Service animals must share a seat with the patron and cannot block aisles. Please use Best Available Seating for a list of access requests. You may also leave a detailed order note on the checkout page.

    Visitors with Mobility Considerations and Accessible Parking Maps

    Public Transportation:

    Access to OSF by public transportation is limited. For public transportation information please visit Rogue Valley Transportation District (RVTD).

    Accessible / Blue Zone Parking:

    Several on-street and off-street ADA parking spaces are available within 1/4 mile of OSF, including downtown and in the Hargadine parking structure located behind the Thomas Theatre. Accessible parking spaces are offered at no charge.

    Navigating the Theatres:

    Motorized scooters are welcome in all theatres and at the Green Show held in the Bricks area. All theatres have elevators. Please use Best Available Seating for a list of access requests. You may also leave a detailed order note on the checkout page.
    Other Access Information

    Door Access:

    All doors are accessible. They are either propped open, lightweight and ADA compliant, feature push buttons, or will be staffed by an employee or volunteer to assist opening doors.

    Restrooms:

    Each theatre has accessible, all-gender bathrooms.

    Fragrance-Free Environment:

    OSF staff and patrons are asked to refrain from using scented products while on campus. Please do not smoke before or during the show.
