Shook Twins

Shook Twins

Performing in the 2013 Green Show Saturday, June 15 and Friday, August 23.

This is their first season in the OSF Green Show.

Quirky Folk from Portland, OR.

“A unique, personal music that lights up the stage with its joy and enthusiasm.” (Mason Jennings)

Born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho, Shook Twins are a quirky folk band now hailing from coniferous forested Portland, Oregon. Identical twins, Katelyn and Laurie Shook, and Kyle Volkman form the core trio. Central elements of the Shook Twins sound are a wide range of instrumentation, including banjo, guitar, upright bass, mandolin, face drum (beatbox), glockenspiel, ukulele, djembe and their signature golden egg. Beautiful twin harmonies, layered upon acoustic instrumentation coupled with Laurie’s inventive use of a looping machine, and Katelyn’s re-purposed telephone microphone, set their sound apart, creating an eclectic and eccentric blend of folk, roots, pop and fun.

Shook Twins have shared the stage with many amazing artists including Ryan Adams, Mason Jennings, Laura Veirs, The Fruit Bats, Jonatha Brooke, Crooked Still, Scott Law, Darol Anger, Jason Webley, Elephant Revival, The Head and The Heart and many more amazing artists and bands.

Shook Twins on Community: Oregon Country Fair folks, Northwest String Summit folks, Pickathon folks, Hippies, Hipsters, Acoustic Music Fans, Festival goers, college students, folk societies, all ages...all sizes. The Shook Twins would love to connect with as many folks of different backgrounds as possible.
