Colorful, exuberant dances, representing the soul of Mexican folk tradition.

Ballet Folklórico Ritmo Alegre is a Mexican folk dance troupe that has performed traditional dances from many states and regions of Mexico here in the Rogue Valley for more than 16 years. The group is now based at its Ballet Folklórico Dance Center located at 815 S Oakdale Ave, Medford. The group's Artistic Director, Luisa Zaragoza and Lead Instructor, Hector Zaragoza, each have 12 years with the group and train each summer at the National School of Ballet Folklórico in Mexico City. Performers with Ballet Folklórico Ritmo Alegre range in age from 6- 19 years and have an average of 3 years experience with the group.

Ballet Folklórico Ritmo Alegre on Community: Ballet Folklórico Ritmo Alegre is very active in the Latino community of the Rogue Valley. Our organization is a member of Una Voz, a consortium of local Latino businesses and social service organizations, and also maintains ties with the Hispanic Interagency Committee and the Southern Oregon Latino Scholarship Foundation. Ritmo Alegre also has close ties to ESL and Bilingual teachers in over 25 schools throughout the Rogue Valley. Our afterschool dance classes are conducted in Medford, Ashland, and White City. Our mission is to empower youth and our vision is to serve as cultural ambassadors to build bridges across our diverse community.
