The resident woodwind quintet of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West

The Golden West Winds is the resident woodwind quintet of the United States Air Force Band of the Golden West, Travis Air Force Base. With a repertoire ranging from the early 1800's to the present day, these five accomplished musicians are equally at home performing the standards of quintet literature, contemporary works, as well as marches and patriotic selections. This quintet engages audiences of all ages with their dynamic chamber music performances.

The Golden West Winds performs a variety of different community relations concerts throughout the western United States. Dedicated to music education, this ensemble shares their enthusiasm and expertise in a lively education program presented to elementary age students. The quintet also provides interactive clinics and master classes to middle and high school music students as well as college music students.

Recent performances include concerts at Portland State University, the Sonora Bach Festival, the University of California at Davis, and California State University at Sacramento. They have also appeared as guest performers on the live radio broadcast series, "Sundays at Four," from the Los Angeles County Art Museum. The Golden West Winds are featured on the recordings Wood 'n Brass and Bayside Bravura.
