ASL Translator/Coach: Richard III; Into the Woods

In one season at OSF: Cymbeline and The Heart of Robin Hood.

Monique translates text to Artistic Sign Language, sign-performs for media and coaches signed-translation to other performers. Actors’ ASL coach: Big River (DeafWest/Ford Theatre); Clybourne Park (Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company). ASL translation work: Literary: Shakespeare Sonnets and Asian Folktales (Mo2 Productions). Lyrics: “America, The Beautiful,” “The Star-Spangled Banner,” “This Land Is Your Land” (Sign Media Inc.). Poetry: Romy Achituv and Orit Kruglanski’s Other Words (poems by Kruglanski); art media exhibition at the Israeli Center for Digital Art and Gallery Braverman. 

ASL Shakespeare Lecturer: “Translating Shakespearean Text into Artistic Sign Language,” with her partner, Tim Chamberlain (Rochester Institute of Technology Dartmouth College/Boston University/University of California, Santa Cruz); trains new Deaf DASL coaches.
