Wake Up with Shakespeare is an introduction to and exploration of selected plays in the 2013 season, led by Dr. Courtney Elkin Mohler. Spend six days (August 20 - 25) seeing seven plays, attending lectures by theatre scholars and participating in lively discussions.

Class fee of $735 includes tickets to The Taming of the Shrew, My Fair Lady, Cymbeline, King Lear, The Heart of Robin Hood, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and A Streetcar Named Desire plus two Festival Noon events. Tickets to The Tenth Muse, The Unfortunates and other Festival Noon events are available at an additional cost.

Participants can also purchase the "class-only option" for $300 if they prefer to purchase their own tickets or attend the plays at another time.

If you are purchasing the class and play ticket, a non-refundable deposit of $50 per person per class is required at the time of booking. Payment in full must be received by the Box Office three weeks before the first day of class. No refunds will be made after the three-week deadline. If purchasing the class only, full payment is required at the time of purchase.

Courtney Elkin Mohler holds a Ph.D. in Critical Studies in Theater from UCLA, where she also earned her B.A. in Theater with a specialization in acting. Dr. Mohler joined the faculty of the Santa Clara University Department of Theatre and Dance as an assistant professor in Fall 2013. In addition to directing main stage productions for the university, Mohler teaches courses in Theatre History, Performance Studies, Multicultural Theatre and Native American Studies.  Due to her lifelong obsession for making theater, she has acted in, directed and served as a dramaturg for over forty productions throughout California. Dr. Mohler has published theatre reviews and articles in Theatre Topics, Text & Presentation, Platform, and Theatre Research International.
