Lee Cataluna’s plays have been performed, studied, and workshopped internationally, on both coasts, and around the Hawaiian islands, where she was born and raised and still makes her home. Recent work includes What the Stars See at Night for LaJolla Playhouse and Funeral Attire, which won the Von Marie Atchley Award for Excellence in Playwriting from Native Voices at the Autry. She received the Cades Award for Literature in 2004. She has an MFA in Creative Writing from UC Riverside. She is of Native Hawaiian descent and is the mother of a young actor.
