In 1983, Laurie Gibbs moved from Carmel, California to Ashland Oregon to renovate and open The Winchester Inn with her husband Michael. Over the years they added Alchemy Restaurant and Chateaubriand 36 Restaurant to the family business.

During her time in Ashland Laurie served as President of the Ashland Chamber of Commerce and Travel Ashland. She was a past president of Soroptimist International of Ashland, the Ashland YMCA and served on the board of Unique Inns. Prior to this new term she served as a board member of OSF for ten years.

Before moving to Ashland, Laurie worked in Carmel, California helping to create Steinbeck Country Tours.

Laurie graduated from Whitworth University with a history degree in Italian Renaissance. Her studies took her to Italy to complete her degree.

Laurie and Michael have two children, Drew and Cate were born and raised in Ashland. They grew up in the family business and loving OSF, son, Drew, has joined his parents in the family business
