Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre

Colorful, exuberant dances, representing the soul of Mexican folk tradition.

Ballet Folklorico Ritmo Alegre is a local Mexican folk dance troupe that has performed traditional dances from many states and regions of Mexico for over 20 years. The group's mission is to empower youth through dance and to serve as cultural ambassadors for Mexican folk culture to create bridges of celebration and friendship across the community. The group provides dance classes for all ages at its dance center in Medford and performs in local festivals, parades and school events.

Ritmo Alegre programing is guided by Artistic Director Luisa Zaragoza, who is credentialed as a Master Instructor/Director through the Amalia Hernandez School of Ballet Folklorico in Mexico City and by Lead Instructor Alex Zaragoza.
