Chinese opera, dance and traditional music

Carol Ma, Peking Opera Specialist for Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land and the director and choreographer of Fantasia Performing Arts Center (1994–present), first established Fantasia Performing Arts Center in Taiwan in 1987, and was the first professional Chinese dance organization in Taiwan. Established in Cupertino, California in 1994, Fantasia Performing Arts Center teaches Chinese opera to U.S. students.

Carol Ma other credits: Played Green Snake in The White Snake (1979, Lincoln Center Theater); played Goneril in King Lear and Hecate in a contemporary Chinese opera Macbeth (National Theatre and Concert Hall, Taipei, Taiwan); dancer and choreographer in Madame Butterfly (Monterey Peninsula College, also artistic director and assistant producer). Ma has taught contemporary and historical Chinese opera and dance in schools in the Bay Area, Washington, D.C., and New York. Education: BA, Drama, National Taiwan University of Arts.

Fantasia Performing Arts Center has served the Bay Area since 2001. They perform for both Chinese communities and the entire Bay Area region. Fantasia is non-profit organization that presents Chinese culture and language art.
