Sonic Kaleidoscope

Performing in the 2015 Green Show on Sunday, June 7 and Saturday, July 4 (Rutendo Marimba)

This is their fourth season in the OSF Green Show.

The joyful music of Zimbabwe performed with marimbas and percussion.

Jan Christensen, artistic director of Sonic Kaleidoscope, operates a music studio in Ashland specializing in global rhythm and marimba classes for children. Her marimba groups have performed at many venues around Southern Oregon including the Green Show, Art Along the Rogue, Earth Day, Talent Harvest Festival, Medford Multicultural Fair, SOU Percussion Day, Salmonfest, Daedalus, Midsummer's Dream, Taste of Ashland plus numerous Plaza performances. Rutendo Marimba is the performance ensemble of SK. Jan taught in local public schools as a music educator for 29 years and has been adjunct faculty at SOU's music department and currently performs with the New Reeds Saxophone Quartet.    

Sonic Kaleidoscope on Community:

Member of Ashland's amazing music community of artists and teachers, Jan is happy to be associated with the various world music cultures in the valley: Taiko, Samba, Gamelan, Afro-Cuban, West African and Steel Drum experiences.
