Community Producer, La Comedia of Errors

Antonio David Lyons’s artistic universe straddles the globe with one foot planted in both South Africa and the USA. He holds an MA in Applied Theatre from the City University of New York, and maintains a career as a professional artist in tandem with his activist and scholarly pursuits.

Lyons has released two solo music projects, Human Jewels and We Dance We Pray. He’s been a Fulbright Awardee, an OSF Producing Fellow and Scholar in Residence at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Lyons created “We Are Here”, a social activism campaign birthed in South Africa that utilizes discursive play to engage men and boys in themes of identity, masculinity, relationships, gender-based violence and HIV/AIDS. We Are Here has implemented programs in South Africa, Namibia and the USA.
