Avi Amon is a Turkish-American composer, sound artist, and educator. Recent credits: Cupids (Tribeca Film Festival), Mlima’s Tale (St. Louis REP), The Copper Children (OSf), Stew (Page73/SoHo REP), The Fisherman (HBO Films). Avi’s composition and sound-design work has been developed or presented by: Actors Theatre of Louisville, Ars Nova, Atlantic Theater, BAM, The Civilians, Danspace, Edinburgh Fringe, HERE Arts, Lincoln Center, La Mama, Playwrights Center, Prague Quadrennial, and Spoleto USA, among others. Upcoming: Heroine’s Guide with Claire Kiechel (Spotify/Gimlet), Will You Come with Me (PlayCo), and several musicals and film scores. Avi is the recipient of the Thom Thomas Award, a Jonathan Larson Grant, and a New Music USA Grant. He is a Dramatists Guild Fellow, a commissioned member of the NNPN Bridge Program, and an inaugural fellow with THE WORKSHOP at the Hendel Center for Justice and Ethics. Other residencies include: Berkeley REP, Rhinebeck Writers, THEatre ACCELERATOR, Goodspeed Musicals, New Dramatists, and Weston Playhouse, among others.
