FAIR Assistant Director, Julius Caesar
Bobbin Ramsey uses camp, spectacle, and impossibility to create spaces where audiences can unpack the painful and frightening elements of our world through a circumstantial distance and investment in imagination. Focusing on new play development and devised work, Bobbin has premiered over ten new projects on both coasts, in addition to directing bold contemporary plays and urgent productions of classics. She has developed work with playwrights including Susan Soon-He Stanton, Kimber Lee, Brendan Pelsue, Stefani Kuo, and Doug Robinson. Recent productions include Lucy Prebble’s ENRON (Atlantic Acting School) Suzan-Lori Parks’s Fucking A, Macbeth, Doug Robinson’s Cactus Queen, Stefani Kuo’s Wake (Yale School of Drama); The Betrayal Project, Enda Walsh’s Arlington and UDO by Abigail Onwunali and Nomé SiDone (Yale Cabaret); Clare Barron’s Dance Nation; Jennifer Haley’s The Nether; and Alice Birch’s Revolt. She Said. Revolt Again. (Washington Ensemble Theater) and a site-specific Waiting for Godot performed on a Seattle pier.
