Translator, Once on This Island
Daphnee Boncoeur is 28 years old. She is from the town of Les Cayes in the south of Haiti. She has a bachelor’s degree in agriculture and environmental sciences, and is now pursuing a degree in nursing. She has worked as a translator (English–Haitian Creole) for 10 years and has worked for Global Birthing Home Foundation as both a translator and social media reporter. She has worked for organizations like BuildOn and HELP (Haitian Episcopal Learning Program), which builds and funds elementary schools in areas without access to education. She is currently living in Omaha, Nebraska, and does volunteer work at the Food Bank for the Heartland and the Tri-Faith Food Pantry. She is also a gym addict.
