As artistic director of Advanced Beginner Group, David Neumann’s work has been presented in New York at The Kitchen, PS 122, Symphony Space, the Baryshnikov Arts Center, and New York Live Arts. ABG has also toured to the Walker Art Center, Jacob's Pillow, MANCC, American Dance Institute and MASS MoCA, among others. His new work, I Understand Everything Better, will be presented at Abrons Arts Center in April 2015. He has been a featured dancer in the works of Susan Marshall, Jane Comfort, Sally Silvers, Big Dance Theater, and the late club legend Willi Ninja. He was a member of Doug Varone and Dancers, and was an eight-year original member and collaborator with the Doug Elkins Dance Company. He's collaborated with Jodi Melnick and Mikhail Baryshnikov. He continues to perform and choreograph for theatre, opera and film, working with such directors as: Hal Hartley, Laurie Anderson, Robert Woodruff, Lee Breuer, Peter Sellars, JoAnn Akalaitis, Chris Bayes, Daniel Sullivan, Les Waters and Molly Smith.
