Scenic Designer, How to Catch Creation

Jason Sherwood is a New York-based set designer. His recent designs include  Rent Live! (FOX), The Spice Girls World Tour 2019, Camilla Cabello’s Havana (2019 Grammy Awards), the People’s Choice Awards and an ongoing collaboration with Oscar and Grammy Award winner Sam Smith. Other recent work includes “The Chainsmokers” Saturday Night Live, New York Theatre Workshop, New York Fashion Week, the Culture Project, New York Stage and Film, Denver Center for the Performing Arts, Seattle's 5th Avenue Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Alliance Theatre, Goodspeed Musicals, Portland Center Stage, Kansas City Repertory Theatre, Merrimack Repertory Theatre and many others.

Awards: USITT's Rising Designer Award and LiveDesign Magazine’s "Young Designer to Watch."

Nominations: Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Set Design, Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Set Design, Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Scenic Design, American Theatre Wing Henry Hewes Design Award and others.

Education: NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
