FAIR Assistant Director, The Importance of Being Earnest
Jayna Shoda Meyer is a nomadic theatre artist. Born and raised in Southern California, she is a diasporic Chamorro/ CHamoru indigenous to the Mariånas Islands. A lover of new works and collaborative creation processes, Jayna aims to build community through her work and explore the transformative power of storytelling. Recently, she devised We Will Not Go Silent with Breaking Wave Theatre Company, a play addressing the climate crisis from the lens of Guåhan, served as the SDCF Directing Observer for Lempicka on Broadway, and attended ITI Brazil’s New and Emerging Arts Professionals Festival in Rio de Janeiro. Boston University alum, BFA Theatre Arts. She gives gratitude to her family, mentors, and ancestors.
