Other theatres: As artistic director of Berkeley Repertory Theatre for the past 16 years, Tony has staged more than 35 plays, including new work from Culture Clash, Rinde Eckert, David Edgar, Danny Hoch, Geoff Hoyle, Quincy Long, Itamar Moses and Lemony Snicket. He directed two shows that transferred to London: Continental Divide and Tiny Kushner; and two that landed on Broadway: Bridge & Tunnel and Wishful Drinking. Tony commissioned Tony Kushner’s legendary Angels in America, codirected its world premiere; this season marks his eighth collaboration with Kushner when he directs The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures.
