Marcos Duran’s self produced and performed film, “Minced”, won the Best Performances Award at the Los Angeles Experimental Film Festival in August 2021. He was recently commissioned to share his live work at the Mingei International Museum as well as the Without Walls (WOW) Festival in San Diego. A New Yorker from 2008 to 2017, he directed and performed in Marcos Duran Performance Group while an artist-in-residence at Center for Performance Research. His work has been presented by Movement Research at The Judson Church, Dixon Place, La MaMa Experimental Theater, Theater for the New City, and the 92nd St Y. He holds an MFA in Dance Theatre ('20) from UC San Diego where is currently appointed as Lecturer in Theatre and Dance. He is also on dance faculty at San Diego City College, Malashock Dance, and San Diego Dance Theater. Cat Sitter is his first credit as a production assistant with this dream team.
