Dengue Fever—Ethan Holtzman, Zac Holtzman, Chhom Nimol, David Ralicke, Paul Dreux Smith, Senon Williams—is an American band from Los Angeles. Founded by the Holtzman brothers in 2002, the band combines Cambodian rock/pop music from the 1960s–70s with psychedelic rock and other world music styles. Vocalist Chhom Nimol is well-known in her native Cambodia and performs the Khmer lyrics in Dengue Fever’s songs, while saxophonist David Railicke, drummer Paul Dreux Smith and bassist Senon Williams are indie rock music scene veterans. Dengue Fever has appeared at international festivals in Europe, Asia, Russia, Brazil, the United Arab Emirates, Australia and New Zealand. Their music can be heard in City of Ghosts, Broken Flowers, The Hangover 2, Weeds, True Blood, CSI: Las Vegas and others. Dengue Fever has worked with Cambodian charitable organizations including Wildlife Alliance.
