One of America’s premier playwrights, O’Neill wrote more than 30 full-length plays and some 20 one-acts. His best-known plays include Beyond the Horizon, Anna Christie, The Emperor Jones, The Hairy Ape, All God’s Chillun Got Wings, Desire Under the Elms, Lazarus Laughed, The Great God Brown, Strange Interlude, Mourning Becomes Electra, Ah, Wilderness! (OSF, 1983), The Iceman Cometh (1988), Hughie, Long Day's Journey into Night (OSF, 1975), A Moon for the Misbegotten, A Touch of the Poet (1998), More Stately Mansions.

Awards: Four Pulitzer Prizes for Drama (Beyond the Horizon, Anna Christie, Strange Interlude, Long Day's Journey into Night).
