When we choose to look, what do we have to say?
Explore Nichole Sobecki’s world of photography in the
unseen: Interactive Photo Exhibition, a digital project presented in conversation with OSF's production of
unseen by
Mona Mansour, directed by
Evren Odcikin. We invite you to browse through select photographs from Sobecki's collections including Revolution and Anarchy, Climate for Conflict, and Afghanistan in Flux, and leave brief written responses to the images. Collective responses will appear in a reflective mural under each image.
In the creation of the character of Mia, the
unseen playwright Mona Mansour was inspired by the artistry of award-winning documentary photographer Nichole Sobecki. Focusing on regional issues related to identity, conflict, and human rights, Sobecki’s career has taken her to Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, Afghanistan and all over the African continent. Amidst our fractured present existence, Sobecki believes that a well-told story can cut through the noise, deepen empathy, and inspire a more conscious world.
