OSF’s annual festival where immersive technology and live performance come out to play!
Quills Fest launch weekend—Nov 4 & 5, 2022—features new and continued XR commissions, as well as parties, virtual studio visits, demos and many more live engagements that you can experience in VR, on the web browser, and in a VR pop-up at NYU Tandon at the Yard in Brooklyn, NYC. Projects and conversations will be available on Quills Fest VR World via VR headset and web browser through the end of November.
Quills Fest 2022 showcases world-premiere XR projects that boldly explore liveness, interactivity, and immersive storytelling. Quills Fest is an artist-centric space that invites the public into various stages in the life cycles of XR projects—from prototypes, to works-in-progress, to critically acclaimed prior projects by the commissioned artists. Alongside the XR projects, featured conversations that dive into the behind-the-scenes of XR production celebrate the most adventurous voices in art and immersive technology.
Envisioned by OSF Artistic Director Nataki Garrett and produced by the OSF Innovation & Strategy team, Quills Fest is a transmedia sandbox that radically expands access to the transformational power of storytelling and imagines a multimodal future of theatre.
